Each Preschool
TeamKID meeting follows the same basic outline
EARLY ARRIVAL ACTIVITY
This suggestion appears in the margins of the leader
guide and provides a purposeful activity for children who arrive
early.
The EARLY ARRIVAL ACTIVITY can be done with little
preparation or guidance from a coach. It can be done with one or
more children and can be discontinued easily when it is time for
WARM-UP.
WARM-UP
Warm-up introduces the central focus of the meeting to
the children.
Usually using some of the recreation equipment, one of
the coaches will spend 5-10 minutes helping boys and girls begin to
explore the meetings topic. All of the children participate in
this activity together.
WORKOUT
During WORKOUT, children experience the Bible story and
are given opportunities to pray, learn Bible verse songs, and apply
Bible truths to their lives.
WORKOUT is led by the TeamKID Head Coach or any
other coach who enjoys telling Bible stories. Songs from the CDs
are used to help boys and girls worship and recall applicable Bible
phrases and verses. Life application of biblical truths is
accomplished through activities, discussion, and a time of prayer.
STRETCHING
During this small-group time, learning is reinforced as
children express what they have learned through art, crafts, and
manipulatives.
Each coach guides children, in groups of five or six,
to further understand and apply the concepts learned in WORKOUT.
All of the children complete the front side of their tear-out sheets
(from the TeamKID Activity Book) as they encounter in yet another way
the central point of the Bible story. Then each coach leads one
of the creative art and manipulative activities from the back of the
tear-out sheet. As time permits, children may participate in as
many of the STRETCHING activities as possible.
REACH OUT
Each week children will either learn about missions or
do a missions action project with their TeamKID Coaches and
Assistant Coaches. This time of missions emphasis shows the
children the importance of sharing Christ with others.
TOURNAMENT
Using the various recreation equipment, girls and boys
participate in games and other physical activities which relate to the
meeting's purpose, reinforcing yet again concepts learn in WORKOUT.
During this segment, the TeamKID Head Coach or
one of the other coaches leads and involves the entire group of
children in the games. Activities progress from more active to
less active as the team prepares to leave for the evening.
COOL DOWN
While serving a small snack, this times gives the coaches and opportunity to
reinforce key points for the evening as well as get to know each child
on a more intimate basis.
